11-3 Circumference of a circle
How to calculate the circumference of a circle ?
1. You can calculate the approximate circumference by multiplying the diameter by 3.14 (∏). There is a key for pi on your calculator.
2. The formula to calculate the circumference of a circle is circumference = ∏ x diameter or C = ∏d.
3. When you know the circumference of the circle you can use the formula diameter = circumference : ∏.
Diameter: the line sement that divides a circle into two equal parts.
Radius: a straight line extending from the center of a circle or sphere to the circumference or surface.
